Phys 6896 - Continuation Research in Physics

Description

Thesis research work under the supervision of a faculty member, for students working towards their master’s degree. This course permits masters degree students who have completd all the courses and research credit requirements to maintain active status while completing their thesis work.

Objective

Study and research leading to the preparation of a thesis.

Course Content

Critical analysis of recent research works and literature concerned with the selection thesis theme.

Instructional Strategy

Exploration and research of special topics or problems of particular interest to individual students at a master-level, under the direction of a faculty member. Prior registration, the student and professor will agree on a specific topics and the final product to be expected; this product will include a written document with the theoretical or experimental results related with the research done.

Minimum Require Facilities

Library and Research experimental or theoretical laboratory, equipped for the chosen research subject.

Student Evaluation

All students must work closely with their advisors maintaining a feedback communication in order to receive the correspondent pass degree credit.

Grading System

The student completing the course work will be graded according to a scale of passed Superior, Passed Notable, Passed Good, Not Passed.

Bibliography

Every advisor will recommend the bibliography, mainly on research publications on the area of interest.
